On a GLP-1

A food scanner for people on a GLP-1

On Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound or Saxenda? Pick GLP-1 Weight Management and Velrae Method puts protein first on every grade — alongside anything else that applies to you.

Free to start — 7 days or 25 scans, no card.

What it checks on a GLP-1

  • Protein firstWhen a serving has 5 g of protein or more, it leads the grade card: a good source at 5 g, an excellent source at 10 g.
  • Drinks and sweeteners that can upset your stomachDrinks with alcohol, sugar alcohols such as maltitol, sorbitol and xylitol, and high-fructose corn syrup are marked Caution. Fizzy drinks get a note, without changing the grade.
  • Fat and added sugar per servingWhen a serving has 20% or more of the daily value of fat or added sugar, the grade stays at C or below, and the card says why.
  • Everything else you pickMost people on a GLP-1 are also watching something else — type 2 diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol. Pick them all and every scan is graded for all of them at once.
The Today tab: sodium 711 of 2,300 mg and protein 22 of 50 g so far, then the morning check-in with 1 to 5 buttons
Today: your numbers so far, then the check-in.

After the scan, it keeps your journal

  • Your day’s protein, added upLog what you eat and the Day Overview adds up your protein against your target, with the foods most of it came from.
  • Nausea, weight and waistThe morning check-in adds a Nausea row, and weight, waist and blood glucose sit beside what you ate.
  • A visit summary to hand across the deskYour protein and weight since your last visit, with what you logged. Descriptive, not a verdict.
Day Overview: the day graded B, 74 of 100, across 4 items; sodium 711 of 2,300 mg, most of it from sliced turkey breast and whole wheat bread
Your whole day, in one grade.

Questions

Is there a food scanner for people on a GLP-1?

Yes. Velrae Method has a GLP-1 Weight Management setting for people on a GLP-1 medication such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound or Saxenda (semaglutide, tirzepatide or liraglutide). Every grade shows protein first, and the journal tracks nausea, weight and waist. It’s on the App Store and Google Play.

Does it track protein?

Yes. When a serving has 5 g or more, protein is the first number on the grade card, and when you log what you eat it adds up your protein across the day against your target.

Does it flag foods that can be harder on a GLP-1?

Yes. Drinks with alcohol and sugar alcohols are marked Caution, fizzy drinks get a note, and a serving high in fat or added sugar holds the grade at C, with the reason on the card. Each one names its published source in the app.

Can I log my weight?

Yes. Weight, waist and blood glucose are your numbers, and the morning check-in adds a Nausea row.

Is it medical advice?

No. Velrae is a journal, not a diagnosis, and not a replacement for your doctor. It reads labels against what you told it to watch, so you can walk in with three weeks of evidence instead of a guess.

What does it cost?

Free to start: 7 days or 25 scans, no card. Then $29.99 a year or $59.99 lifetime.

Is this right for you on a GLP-1?
