When the trial ends, barcode scans stay free for products already in Velrae, with a general grade (not one for your conditions), the nutrition and the ingredient list. New products appear as members scan their labels — the community helps the community. You keep your history and your Patterns, read-only, forever. Restaurant mode — optional add-on
Grading a restaurant dish from a plain-English description — “egg salad sandwich with chips” — or from a photo of the menu page is harder than reading a label. Velrae infers the hidden ingredients (the mayo, the cooking oil, the salt), calibrates the portion for the kind of place you’re eating, and grades the result for your body — so you get your answer before the plate arrives.
Why it’s a separate, paid add-on. All of that runs on genuinely advanced technology, and it costs us something real every single time it’s used. Charging for it on its own is exactly what keeps the base app so inexpensive — anyone who never eats out, or never needs this, never pays a cent for it.

Refunds
Bought in the app? Apple and Google handle refunds for purchases made through the App Store or Google Play — ask them. Bought on our website? Email us within 30 days and we’ll refund you. Your data stays on your phone either way.

- Can I try before I buy?
- Yes — the full app runs right here in your browser, ungated, no signup. It’s at the top of the Features page.
- Does it work offline?
- Your diary, check-ins, numbers, pasted ingredient lists and products you’ve scanned before all work with no signal. Looking up a new barcode, Smart Scan and restaurant scans need a connection.
- Do I need an account?
- No. In the app you buy through the App Store or Google Play. An optional Velrae account carries your purchase to your other devices — that’s all it’s for.
- What if I lose my phone?
- Sign in to your Velrae account on the new phone to bring your purchase back, or email us and we’ll help. Your history lives only on your phone — we have no copy — so use Email myself a backup in Settings → Your data. The backup is encrypted and locked to your email, and restores on a new phone.
