Caregivers

For people shopping for someone else

Shopping for someone whose body has rules?

Velrae grades for them — even when you’re holding the phone. Switch profiles in two taps. Share a list by PIN. Your mom’s grades, your kid’s grades, your spouse’s grades, all in one app.

3 profileson one phone, one license

Built so caregiving doesn’t mean buying three apps.

Two ways to shop on someone else’s behalf

Multi-profile (you and them on the same phone) — Set up a profile for each person you shop for: your mom, your kid, your spouse. The active-profile pill sits at the top of every scan, so it’s always clear whose body the grade is for. Switch in two taps.

What you’ll see in the app

Profile switch + the List tab

  • Set up profiles for everyone you cook for: yourself, your mom, your spouse, the kid with T1D. Two-tap switch.
  • At the store, open the List tab and tap items as you walk. The grade is for the person you’re shopping for — not for you.
  • The cared-for person never has to learn the app. They can, if they want. They don’t have to.

Switch profiles mid-shop and every untapped item re-grades the next time you tap it. No re-entering.

PIN-share (send a list to another adult) — Build a shopping list, attach a PIN, send it. The recipient imports the list with the PIN, and every scan they do against that list grades for the original sharer’s body — not the recipient’s. Your daughter can shop your list with her phone, and the grades reflect your Hashimoto’s, not hers.
PIN-share babysitter flowCarla builds a shopping list for Ava’s T1D diet. She taps “Share with PIN” and reads the 4-digit code to the babysitter. Babysitter imports the list in their own Velrae app, scans items at the store. Grades reflect Ava’s body. Babysitter never sees Ava’s condition list, just the items.

Always clear whose body the grade is for

Marisol shops for her mom on Saturdays. Carla packs Ava’s school lunch. Pat plans the week’s meals; Tom does the actual grocery run. The pill makes whose-body-this-is-for unmissable — no second-guessing in the aisle.

Caregiving doesn’t override preferences

The cared-for person is a co-user, not an object the caregiver operates on. If your mom has a safe list, you see it — but you can’t silently rewrite it. PIN-shared lists carry only what’s needed: items and grading conditions. They never carry the cared-for person’s scan history, diary, or anything they haven’t agreed to share.

The babysitter shopping for Ava sees the shopping list. She doesn’t see Ava’s condition list. She doesn’t see Ava’s diary. She sees what she needs to make a sandwich.
